Hogwarts Legacy PC requirements & build guide

At higher settings, memory capacity and texture settings deserve particular attention.

What PC do you need for Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the curated games with developer-published profiles for multiple display resolutions. The official figures are a helpful starting point, but a recommended configuration still reflects the publisher’s specified settings and conditions rather than your personal collection of mods, background apps and driver versions.

These estimates assume ray tracing is turned off. The game can be demanding on VRAM at Ultra settings.

Choosing the right components

Texture detail and higher output resolutions put pressure on graphics memory. A GPU that looks suitable on paper for 1080p can perform differently at 1440p or 4K, particularly with ray tracing. SpecVora treats those as separate planning targets and identifies 32 GB RAM in higher-end configurations where the source guidance warrants it.

For a complete PC you also need a compatible motherboard, RAM of the right type, SSD, power supply, cooler, case and operating system. Even a sensible component tier is not a verified product-by-product compatibility list; confirm sockets, BIOS, clearances and connectors for exact parts.

Practical starting point: For a first build, decide on the resolution of your actual monitor and turn ray tracing off unless you have independently tested evidence for a higher-end GPU.

Common questions

Is a high-end GPU essential at 1080p?

Not for all settings. Lower presets can reduce the hardware requirement, but results should be checked against contemporary benchmarks.

How much storage should I allow?

The published installation requirement is a baseline. Leave spare SSD space for Windows, patches and other games.

Are ray-tracing performance targets included?

No. SpecVora’s generic component suggestions assume ray tracing is switched off.

How we calculate the build price

SpecVora applies illustrative UK component reference amounts to model-based GPU and CPU tiers for your chosen resolution, graphics preset and FPS target. The user’s FPS selection is a goal, not a claim that the system has achieved that frame rate. Converted prices are not local retailer offers and do not include exact availability, taxes or shipping.
