Black Ops 6 PC requirements & build guide

Do not merge Black Ops 6 and Warzone requirements. Plan your PC around the version, mode and settings you actually want to play.

Choose a target, then compare the evidence. Publisher profiles and SpecVora’s planning estimates are shown separately.

Minimum and recommended requirements

Desktop specifications from Activision, checked 24 October 2026. Laptop variants need separate verification. An older model listed here is a reference point, not an instruction to buy that used component.

What the publisher’s targets mean

Recommended / High

60 FPS in most situations, High; resolution not specified

Hardware is listed in the recommended box above. VRAM: 8 GB.

Competitive / 4K Ultra

Competitive / 4K Ultra; numeric FPS not specified

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X / Core i7-8700K
GPU: RX 6800 XT / RTX 3080 or RTX 4070
RAM: 16 GB · VRAM: 10 GB

The recommended profile does not state a resolution. Do not silently interpret it as a native 1080p, 1440p or 4K guarantee. Higher-profile wording also does not certify that every scene reaches your selected FPS.

Do not merge Black Ops 6 and Warzone requirements

Black Ops 6’s published storage figure excludes Warzone. If you play both, price and size your SSD around the content you actually intend to install. A shared launcher does not make every mode’s requirements interchangeable.

The recommended profile describes 60 FPS at High in most situations. The competitive / 4K Ultra profile describes higher-FPS use without giving a number. When comparing a used GTX 1080 Ti PC with a newer RTX 3060 system, the fact that both cards appear in the recommendation is not a complete performance or value comparison. Check power, warranty, condition and the rest of the tower.

A useful buying test should identify the mode and map, the resolution and whether rendering is native or upscaled. Try to compare similar gameplay rather than matching a quiet campaign scene against a busy online match. Judge the full configuration, including CPU and RAM, before making the GPU your only decision.

Choosing your display target

For 1080p, research a balanced CPU and GPU combination. For 1440p, compare graphics-card results at that resolution rather than scaling up a 1080p result. If you want 120 FPS or more, look at slower frames and CPU behaviour as well as average FPS. Record whether a test uses native rendering, upscaling or generated frames.

Build Finder’s Low, Medium, High and Ultra choices are editorial planning tiers, with ray tracing and frame generation off. Its FPS selector expresses your goal. It does not report a measured result or duplicate every publisher profile. Check exact motherboard, RAM, cooler, case and power connections before purchasing the proposed component families.

Storage and setup checks

The launch requirement is 102 GB on an SSD for Black Ops 6, with extra capacity needed for Warzone. Updates can change the space required. Check installed packs in the launcher and keep working space for patching; a nearly full drive leaves little flexibility for another game.

The linked article is a desktop launch-specification reference. Recheck current publisher notices and your launcher before buying; an older specification is not a promise that every later update has identical requirements.

DirectX 12 compatibility and broadband are part of the publisher specifications. Check the current Windows and driver guidance on the linked support page. For Intel Arc hardware, verify title-specific requirements and platform configuration rather than assuming every listing applies to every Arc card.

Investigating stutters or uneven performance

  1. Record the mode, resolution, rendering settings and exact hardware. Repeat a comparable gameplay section before changing anything.
  2. Separate low rendering performance from connection symptoms. A position correction or delayed online response alone does not identify a GPU problem.
  3. Lower rendering resolution while keeping other settings consistent. If performance changes substantially, investigate GPU load; if it does not, investigate other limits rather than automatically buying a CPU.
  4. Check free SSD space, background downloads, memory pressure and temperatures. Follow the publisher’s current troubleshooting and driver advice for this title.
  5. Compare frame-time spikes and slower frames, not just a single average. Change one variable at a time and keep notes.

Before buying an upgrade

Write down your full CPU and GPU model, RAM configuration and power-supply model. A processor upgrade can require a new motherboard or memory; a graphics-card upgrade can require different connectors or more clearance. Price the complete change and compare recent independent tests of this exact release.

Common question

Does the 102 GB figure include Warzone?

No. The publisher explicitly excludes Warzone from that launch storage figure. Check the current combined installation in your launcher.
