Fortnite: PC requirements & hardware guide

Published requirements and known gaps

The boxes show the requirements recorded in our source-linked catalogue. Missing fields remain unspecified; a broad hardware family or an API description is not an exact model recommendation.

Minimum

CPUCore i3-3225 3.3 GHz
GPUIntel HD 4000 / Radeon Vega 8
RAM8 GB
OSWindows 10 22H2 64-bit / Enterprise 21H2 64-bit

Recommended

GPUGTX 960 / Radeon R9 280 or equivalent DX11 GPU
RAM16 GB
OSWindows 10/11 64-bit
Notes2 GB VRAM; NVMe SSD
Important context: Epic publishes minimum, recommended and Epic-quality profiles. No numeric FPS, resolution or fixed installation size is stated on the checked support page. NVMe SSD recommended. Epic-quality profile is separate from the standard recommendation. Build Finder editorial planning profile added 24 October 2026; no measured FPS is claimed.

Build estimate available. Our component tiers are editorial planning estimates, with ray tracing and frame generation off. FPS is your requested goal, not a measured result. Compare presets and view sources →

Publisher profiles and planning scope

Recommended hardware: The linked requirements listing does not attach a numeric FPS / resolution / preset target to this hardware profile.
CPU: Core i5-7300U / Ryzen 3 3300U or equivalent · GPU: GTX 960 / Radeon R9 280 or equivalent DX11 GPU · RAM: 16 GB

Epic quality (separate publisher profile): Epic quality; numeric FPS and resolution not stated
CPU: Core i7-8700 / Ryzen 7 3700X or equivalent · GPU: RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT or equivalent · RAM: 16 GB or higher

Standard graphics planning with ray tracing and frame generation off; no Performance Mode benchmark or Nanite/Lumen/Epic-feature guarantee. SpecVora Ultra is not Epic’s Epic-quality certification. These preset, resolution and 120 FPS tier steps are editorial allowances in a limited component pool, not measured benchmarks, performance equivalence or guaranteed FPS.

Choose the rendering mode before comparing PCs

Record the current game version, mode, resolution and rendering setup. Keep Performance Mode tests separate from standard graphics and from Nanite or Lumen workloads.

Frame rate and online response are separate

For a 1080p or 1440p goal, find tests at the same resolution and rendering settings. For high-refresh play, include slower frames and representative action. An average FPS value does not establish connection quality or input responsiveness on every server.

A repeatable comparison

  1. Record the exact game version, CPU, GPU, memory configuration and settings.
  2. Use the same save, scene or activity where practical; note anything that cannot be held constant.
  3. Change one setting or rendering resolution, then compare sustained performance and pauses separately.
  4. Check temperatures, memory pressure and background work before attributing a problem to one part.

Storage and setup

No reliable combined installation-space figure is recorded. Check the current launcher or publisher instructions before buying a drive. We do not substitute a guessed official size.

Check the game’s current operating-system and platform requirements directly. Historical game specifications may name Windows versions that are no longer supported by the distribution client. A specification for one edition, branch or platform does not certify another.

Before paying for a PC or upgrade

Epic publishes a separate Epic-quality hardware profile. Our Ultra estimate does not certify every Epic feature, and displayed generated-frame results are not base rendering FPS.

Ask for the full processor and graphics-card models, RAM stick configuration, available installation-drive space and power-supply model. Price any motherboard, memory, cooling or power changes needed for an upgrade. Similar product-family names and equal VRAM capacities do not establish equal performance.

Use our requirements and benchmark checklist to assess evidence, and our first gaming PC guide to budget for the complete setup. No hands-on benchmark results or guaranteed FPS figures are claimed.
